Thank You for Growing With Us

Before we jump into all the year-end fun, we want to pause and say thank you. This year reminded us how strong and connected our community is. You let us care for the trees that mattered to you, and that means more than you know.

This season is about gratitude, and our team feels deeply grateful for each family, homeowner, and community member who trusted RTEC this year. Thank you for inviting our team into your yards, your neighborhoods, and your landscapes. Because of you, we get to do what we love every day.

Every tree we protect, prune, save, or strengthen reflects a shared commitment to healthier, safer, more resilient outdoor spaces. We couldn’t ask for a better community to serve.
From all of us at RTEC Treecare, we wish you a safe, joyful, and peaceful holiday season. Thank you for being part of our community and for joining us in protecting the trees that make our neighborhoods beautiful.

RTEC Treecare Wrapped: What We Accomplished Together in 2025

Our team attending a Beech Leaf Disease training session this past Summer. Keeping ourselves at the forefront of the latest plant care diseases is how we provide the best solutions for your plants.
Each year, we’re impressed by the volume of plants we get to interact with. This year, however, we’d like to share those numbers with you.

Your Trees Came Back to RTEC (A Lot!)
This year, we cared for thousands of trees across the DMV, but we loved seeing our homeowners return to RTEC 1,536 times — proof that healthy trees (and happy clients) love coming back.

From Quick Fixes to Long-Term Care
One‑third of our tree‑care clients leveled up to Plant Health Care this year.
That means more homeowners are choosing proactive care and embracing continuous tree health.

5-Star Love, Still Going Strong
Our 5-star Google reviews increased by 28% this year — all while proudly maintaining our 4.9-star rating!

The Team Behind It All
Our team grew by 58%! We’re thrilled to welcome incredible new teammates who share our commitment to RTEC’s mission: doing right by people and planet. With this growth, we’re ready to serve our community better than ever before.

Tree Care Highlights of the Year

2025 was a year full of unique challenges and memorable moments. We navigated an especially active storm season, supported homeowners through unexpected tree failures, and celebrated some inspiring tree recoveries after drought stress. We got to see beautiful wildlife on properties; this deer photo was taken by arborist Ben Gotch.

This year brought several trends our arborists paid close attention to: increased drought stress early in the season, a rise in common fungal leaf diseases, and ongoing pressure from invasive species. Through thoughtful treatments, pruning, soil care, and homeowner education, we were able to help restore stability and resilience to thousands of trees across the region.

And yes, we also spotted plenty of squirrels judging us from the branches while we worked. Never a dull moment in tree care.

Work Within Our Green Industry

This spring, we partnered with the Virginia Department of Forestry to connect homeowners to a federally funded Emerald Ash Borer treatment program. Eligible participants received financial reimbursements for treating their ash trees. We proactively reached out to everyone in our system identified as having a standing ash tree to ensure they could take advantage of this opportunity.

In September, RTEC attended TCIA’s (Tree Care Industry Association) Day on the Hill. At the White House, we shared our experiences with key officials to shape policy surrounding workplace safety, wildlife mitigation and eco-conscious pesticide practices. You can read the insights from the meeting here: TCIA Welcomes New Leader for Advocacy

This November, our President, Andy Ross, was featured in TCIA Magazine’s Faces of the Industry. We’re excited to see Andy and RTEC as a whole, recognized for the work we love doing every day. It’s an honor to be recognized for our values, innovation and commitment to quality and we’re grateful to share this moment with you.

Capital Area Food Bank Partnership

Giving back is an important part of who we are. This year, we partnered with the Capital Area Food Bank to help fight hunger during the holidays. Our custom link allows us to see how much our community can raise together. There’s absolutely no pressure; every small act of kindness counts, and we’re grateful for anything you feel called to contribute.

Many of our friends, neighbors, and family were affected by the recent shutdown. We wanted to partner with an organization that served federal workers when food became limited for some.
If you’re in a place to give, we’d love for you to join us. If not, sharing the link or even sending good wishes makes a difference.
