The Homeowner’s Guide to Fall Tree Health Care in Northern Virginia
Fall has a way of making us notice our trees again. Maples flash red and orange, leaves scatter across the lawn, and that oak outside
Your outdoor space should be a sanctuary, not a breeding ground for pests. But protecting your family from biting bugs shouldn’t mean introducing harsh chemicals into your environment. The professionals at RTEC Treecare believe there’s a better way to protect your property.
Our Safe-Shield™ program uses a 100% organic, proprietary blend of natural oils to create a strong, effective barrier against pests. It’s tough on mosquitoes but safe for children, pets, and wildlife, giving you peace of mind along with a bite-free yard. Whether you need ongoing protection or a one-time treatment, our team is here to help.
Effective mosquito control requires more than just a surface-level application. It demands a strategic approach that targets pests without harming your landscape. Unlike DIY treatments that often provide inconsistent results and rely on harsh synthetics, Safe-Shield™ uses organic oils to provide maximum protection.
Our technicians carefully evaluate your property to identify high-risk areas, applying naturally occurring oils with precision and care. And by maintaining a consistent application schedule, you can enjoy a bite-free backyard along with the peace of mind that comes from knowing your property is in expert hands.
Protecting your property from mosquitoes requires a specialized understanding of both pest biology and environmental health. Our team combines advanced organic science with strategic application methods to deliver results without harming pollinators or other wildlife. Best of all, we offer a variety of services to suit your specific pest-control needs.
While seeing a few mosquitoes in the summer is expected, an overabundance often indicates that your yard has become a breeding ground. Left unmanaged, these pests can quickly dominate your outdoor space, making even a short walk to the mailbox unpleasant.
If you notice any of the following signs, it’s time to contact the RTEC Treecare team and reclaim your landscape.

Choosing a mosquito control provider is about more than just finding the lowest price. It’s about choosing a team you can trust to apply treatments around your home, your children, and your pets. While many companies rely on high-volume synthetic sprays that harm beneficial insects and the broader ecosystem, RTEC Treecare takes a different approach.
We don’t believe you should have to choose between a bite-free yard and a healthy environment. Our Safe-Shield™ program is rooted in our long-standing commitment to environmental safety. By using a 100% organic, proprietary blend of natural oils, we provide a solution that is lethal to mosquitoes but gentle on the earth.
Our team consists of highly trained professionals who understand the delicate balance of the DC Metropolitan landscape. We don’t just spray your yard and leave; we analyze your property’s unique biology. Our technicians are trained to identify specific mosquito habitats and breeding cycles, ensuring that every application is effective.
As a locally owned and operated company, we care about the health of our shared environment. We are dedicated to providing the greater DC area with transparent, honest, and high-quality service. When you choose RTEC, you aren’t just hiring a pest control service—you’re partnering with environmental experts who treat your property with care.
Our Safe-Shield™ program isn’t just a natural alternative; it is an effective, scientifically formulated solution. The proprietary blend of natural oils we utilize is designed to disrupt the mosquito life cycle at multiple stages. This allows us to deliver the high-performance results of synthetic treatments without the associated chemical risks.
Mainstream mosquito treatments often take a “scorched earth” approach, harming essential pollinators like bees, butterflies, and ladybugs. Because our philosophy is rooted in plant health care, our organic treatments are specifically designed to help you maintain a vibrant, buzzing garden while keeping the biting pests at bay.
We understand that your home is your greatest investment. Unlike many liquid treatments that leave behind oily residues or unsightly streaks, our organic spray is formulated to dry clear. We take meticulous care during application to ensure that your home’s foundation, decorative pavers, and stone patios remain in pristine, stain-free condition.

Mosquitoes can also transmit heartworm disease, which poses a serious threat to dogs and, less commonly, cats.
